Snežnik

Description of peak:
Snežnik or Veliki Snežnik is the highest peak in the near and far surroundings with a height of 1796 m. It offers a beautiful view over most of Slovenia and the neighbouring Croatia. In good weather, you can see the highest peaks of Gorski Kotar, where Risnjak, Snježnik and Učka stand out. On the Slovenian side, through the vast forests of Notranjska, we can also see the highest peaks of Julian Alps, Kamnik Savinja Alps and Karavanke.
Just a few metres below the summit is the Draga Karolina shelter on Veliki Snežnik.
