Kalvarija (church of St. Barbara)

Description of peak:
Calvary is a hill above the town of Maribor, which is mostly planted with vineyards. 454 stone steps lead to the top of the hill ("stenges" to Calvary). Near the steps is the Church of St Barbara. The church was built in thanksgiving for the cessation of the plague (1681).
From the top of the hill (375 mnv) there is a beautiful view of the whole town of Maribor, the river Drava and the Maribor Pohorje. There is a beautiful hiking trail that leads us among the local vineyards and beautiful views!
