Veliki Karman / Monte Chiampon

Description of mountain:
The highest peak of the whole ridge Veliki Karman - (Breginjski) Stol. Its only rival in height is the nearby Deneal, which exceeds it by a mere eight metres. But Deneal is a kilometre to the west and inaccessible to the average trained mountaineer, so it does not threaten his primacy. The view covers the whole of the Muzzi ridge to the north and north-east, the Stolov ridge to the east, the Friulian plain all the way to the sea coast and the broad gravel bed of the Tilmento and Carnic Alps to the west. A cross, a bell and a triangulation marker stand at the summit, which is reached via both the very steep southern slopes and the slightly lower northern slopes.
